Senior Robbie Leark (No. 22) tallied 31 points to help the University of La Verne close a 20-point gap against Occidental last Wednesday. Leark sunk six three-point baskets, with five of those six baskets in the second half. La Verne lost 93-89 to SCIAC's No. 1 ranked team, Occidental. La Verne will take on Redlands at Redlands Saturday. The last time these two teams played, ULV came out on top, 97-83. Tip off is 7:30 p.m.

La Verne softball split doubleheaders against Cal State Hayward on Saturday, winning the opener 10-1. Senior Mandy Tillema allowed one hit in the first game against Hayward. La Verne took the lead by scoring seven runs in the second inning of game one. The Leopards fell in the second game, 5-3.
