Issues of rape, love, murder and racism in a 1960s-era African-American atmosphere surfaced as the characters of Ed Bullins’ “The Taking of Miss Janie” revealed their past, present, and future to the audience in Dailey Theatre last week. The play served as the senior directing thesis for Bianca Shehata.
