Darvin Johnson, "The Pepper Man," came to the University of La Verne from The University of Nevada, Las Vegas to help improve business at The Spot. His light sense of humor and friendly demeanor was meant to bring more traffic to the eatery, which is located in the Student Center. Kristy Marrow, a behavioral science major at ULV, accepts a flyer with savings coupons for The Spot.
