Dailey Theatre

“Curse of the Starving Class,” by Sam Shepard, will show at 7:30 p.m. April 23, 24, 25 and 30, May 1 and 2, with a closing matinee at 3 p.m. on May 3 in Dailey Theatre.

This comedy focuses on a farm family as they struggle to survive during the transformation of Los Angeles from a farming community to an urban landscape.

Tickets cost $5 for students.

Art Reception

An artist’s reception for the Student Project Series 2 and 3 will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. April 21 in the Miller Hall second floor lobby.

University of La Verne alumna Janice Sullivan’s “Macro Views 2009” and alumnus Michael Giovanni Gutierrez’s “Night Series 2009” are currently on display.

The reception is a free event and refreshments will be served.

Open Mic Night

Students are invited to sign up for Open Mic Night that will be held at 8 p.m. on April 29 in Leo’s Den.

Sign ups will be taken in Leo’s Den or Davenport Dining Hall.

Pasadena Symphony

The Pasadena Sym­phony will present “A New World” directed by Jorge Mester on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

This program will feature music by Milhaud, Mendelssohn and Dvorak.
