Julius Walecki, University of La Verne professor of economics, spoke on “Changing Business Climates: Re-assessing the Role of Sustainable Development” on Tuesday in the President’s Dining Room. After his presentation Walecki took questions. One of the issues raised was what big business was doing in contribution to environmental conservation. Walecki then added that Wal-Mart had made a public statement, earlier this year, of its commitment to reduce its impact on the environment.
