Spring denotes a time of celebration and at the University of La Verne nearly 1,600 students are preparing to celebrate their graduation. The University will hold five commencement ceremonies to graduate its spring 2009 candidates.

Below are the times and dates of all five commencements, as well as the baccalaureate service.

College of Law: 2 p.m., Sunday, May 17, at the University of La Verne Main Campus, Sports Science and Athletic Pavilion.

Baccalaureate Service and Reception: 3 p.m., Friday, May 22, at La Verne Church of the Brethren, 2425 E. Street, La Verne.

College of Arts and Sciences/Bachelor, Master, and Doctor of Psychology Candidates: 6 p.m., Friday, May 22, at the University of La Verne Main Campus, Ortmayer Athletics Complex.

College of Education and Organizational Leadership, Bachelor Candidates: 9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 23, at the University of La Verne Main Campus, Ortmayer Athletics Complex

College of Education and Organizational Leadership, Doctor of Education Candidates: 11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 23, at the Sheraton Suites Fairplex Main Ballroom, 601 West McKinley Ave., Pomona.

In addition to the regular commencement ceremonies, there are three cultural ceremonies.

Eighth Annual University of La Verne Latino Graduation Celebration: 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 16, 2009, at the University of La Verne Main Campus, Sports Science and Athletic Pavilion.

Ninth Annual University of La Verne African American Graduation Celebration: 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m., Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the University of La Verne Main Campus, Sports Science and Athletic Pavilion.

Sixth Annual Pacific Islander and Asian American Graduation Celebration: 11:00 a.m. - 12.30 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2009 at the University of La Verne Main Campus in the President's Dining Room.
