As a precautionary measure the La Verne Police Department closed off Third Street between C and D Street Thursday afternoon when they discovered at their doorstep a suspicious-looking small black bag. The incident ended as swiftly as it began when a University professor to whom the bag belonged came forward and notified the police that the bag had fallen off of his cart on his way to a class. Spectators relieved at the discovery, returned to their business.
