(Top): The La Verne fire and police departments held a Public Safety Open House Saturday. The Fire Department demonstrated the course of actions they would take in case of emergency by setting fire to two cars and then extinguishing the flames. Other activities of the event included an emergency escape route exercise for children and Yogi Bear's Quaky Shaky Schoolhouse, an earthquake drill.
