Stand-out art displays

A senior thesis exhibition titled “Liminal,” showcasing the artwork of graduating art students, is on display at the Harris Art Gallery.

The artwork of artist Julia Latané, a unique blend of organic and synthetic materials that inspire dreamy ponderings, called “Hither,” is also on display in the Tall Wall Space.

Admission is free.

Annual holiday concert

The music department will host the ULV Choral Organization Annual Christmas Concert at 4 p.m. Sunday at the La Verne Church of the Brethren, located on the corner of Bonita Avenue and E Street.

The concert will feature seasonal classics performed by the choir and chamber singers and sing-along carols to invite audience participation.

A performance of Vivaldi’s beloved “Gloria,” the main event, will include student soloists amid an ensemble of oboe, trumpet, harpsichord and strings.

Admission is free, though donations are appreciated.

Mixed sounds at The Press

Musician Emily Moultrie will perform at The Press restaurant in Claremont at 10 p.m. today.

Her sound combines modern rock with electronica.

Blue Metro will also perform at 10 p.m. Saturday, mixing blues, swing and jazz.

Jazz ensemble Hip Pocket will perform at 9 p.m. on Dec. 14.
