Women fall to Chapman

The La Verne women’s basketball team started the season strong with a three-game winning streak, which ended against Chapman Nov. 27. The Panthers overpowered the Leopards, 83-66, and scored 47 points by the end of the first period. La Verne guard Lindsey Shiomi passes the ball around Chapman’s guard Linda Ly to fellow guard Marissa Raya, who scored 22 points with five rebounds in the game. The team travels to La Sierra at 1:30 p.m. today.
