Winter Wonderland

The seventh annual “Winter Wonderland” will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Heritage Park in La Verne.

Children from ages 1 to 12 are invited to enjoy festive activities, from snow runs to holiday crafts to a cup of hot cocoa.

Children should dress warmly for the snow. Sleds will be provided.

Admission is $10 per person, which includes snow play, snacks, crafts and a visit with Santa.

Admission will be granted to the first 450 people and all participants must arrive by 11:45 a.m.

Snow Show at Fairplex

The North Pole Snow Show will be held from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday for the first time in Building 4 at the Fairplex in Pomona.

The event includes a sports exposition, including the best ski and snowboarding shops, snow equipment manufacturers, ski resorts and travel agencies.

Prizes, including snowboards, lift tickets and free trips, will also be given out.

General admission is $20, while Web site advance tickets are $15.

Parking is available at Gate 9 on White Avenue.

Reptile Breeders Show

The nations top herpetoculturists, as well as breeders, will gather from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 17 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 18 in Building 5 at the Fairplex.

Hundreds of exhibitors are scheduled to feature thousands of captive bred reptiles and the latest related products, educational workshops and lectures.

General admission is $6, while $3 for ages 6 to 12. Parking is located at Gate 9 on White Avenue.

Holiday Toy Express

The Holiday Toy Express is a 450-ton Metrolink train decorated with festive ornaments, animated displays and more than 50,000 lights.
It travels throughout 48 southland cities to promote a free holiday experience for communities.

Patrons can enjoy free live musical stage shows and Santa visits at each stop.

Audience members are also encouraged to support the Southern California Firefighters’ “Spark of Love Toy Drive,” by donating an unwrapped, new toy for less-fortunate children in the area.

The Holiday Toy Express is scheduled to make appearances from 6:55 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 18 in Covina, Montclair and Claremont.

The Nutcracker in Claremont

The Inland Pacific Ballet is performing “The Nutcracker” at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. until Dec. 18 at Bridges Auditorium in Claremont.

This year, George Reeder, a Broadway and Hollywood film veteran, will assume to role of Dr. Stahlbaum.

Adult admission ranges from $18 to $32.
