E-mail Account Changes
The old student e-mail accounts—the ones ending with ulv.edu—will no longer be available after Dec. 31.
E-mails currently sent to the old address are now automatically forwarded to the new Gmail accounts, but this service will also go away, come Jan. 1.
The Office of Institutional Technology asks students to update personal contacts with the new Gmail addresses that end in @laverne.edu so as to not lose any e-mails.
Faculty e-mail accounts will also change over to the new Gmail format at this time.
In addition to Gmail and Google Calendar, the new applications that will soon be available for students include Google Docs, Google Sites and Google Chat.
For more information on the available Google applications for students, visit the FAQ at ulv.edu/oit/gmail.phtml.

Finals Week Schedule
Finals will consume the last week of the semester (next week), and morning and early afternoon finals will not necessarily be held at their usual class times.
Students are asked to refer to the Registrar’s Office Web site for a schedule of final exams at www.ulv.edu/registrar.
The last lecture of the semester will be held on Dec. 16 with Donna Bentley, reference-access services librarian as presenter.
Her lecture, “Keeping Up With the Changes: Web 2.0 and Information Literacy in Universities,” will be presented at noon in the President’s Dining Room.
Students are asked to take the time to fill out course evaluations to benefit the professors and the structure of the course for future students.
Evaluation completion only takes a few minutes to fill out and can provide important feedback for the professors and the administration.
Evaluations can be found in the MyULV section of the ULV Web site, within the Students Services and Financial Aid section.
