Junior Tracy Huigens ended up with a score of, 6-0, 6-3, against Akiko Stinson and Sandy They went up against Yoko Osawa from Claremont and lost, 6-0, 6-2.

Sophomore Tracy MacArthur did not do too well. She was defeated, 6-0, 6-0. But she still had positive things to say about the match.

"I thought the tournament went well. We played well even though we didn't win. We went into the tournament knowing we had to play the No. 1 seed, but we didn't let that discourage us."

The Leopards record is 0-10 in SCIAC and 1-11 overall. La Verne placed eighth in the overall conference.

First place honors went to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 10-0 in SCAIC, 18-4 overall. Second place went to Pomona-Pitzer, 8-2 in SCIAC and 12-8 overall and third place went to the Redland Bulldogs, 7-3 in SCIAC, 10-10 overall.

"I thought we played better than we have played all year," said MacArthur.

The Leopards will play their last match of the season against Biola next Wednesday at 2 p.m.

They are looking to end the season with a victory considering they beat Biola which was their first victory back in March, 5-4 .
