Actor Christian Slater walked out of La Verne's jail at approximately
12:35 a.m. Saturday morning. Slater, escorted by attorney Blaire Burks and
friend, stopped to answer a few questions by the media. Slater, who was
convicted in January of assault and battery, was released 30 days prior
to his 90 day sentence because of good behavior. He now must enter a drug
treatment program for three months, and a batterers program for a year.
