The University hosted the La Verne World Prep Debate Tournament last week, Nov. 1-7. Two La Verne teams, together with teams from Stanford University and Glasgow, Scotland participated in a world-style exhibition debate Friday, Nov. 6. Glasgow senior Chris Rae fought for the proposition with his partner, junior Alan Laing. Director of Speech and Debate Jason Sanford chose judges sophomores Katarzyna Przybylska and Alicia Hester and senior John Keller to make a final decision on the winners. The Glasgow team won first place, while La Verne's proposition team, consisting of junior Justin Jones and sophomore Sean Krispinsky, took second.
