Phi Sigma Sigma continued the annual tradition of its Rock-a-Thon to raise money for the National Kidney Foundation. Each of the sorority members received donations then took turns rocking in rocking chairs from 3 p.m. Tuesday until 3 p.m. Wednesday. The Tuesday night shift included freshman Theresa Almada-Hernandez, sophomore Armida Garcia, junior Britain Semain, the sorority's philanthropy chair, junior Shellie Etheridge and senior Maria Sandoval. Last year the sorority raised $1,800, a total which was exceeded this year before the night was over.
