The women's volleyball team suffered a tough five-set defeat to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Tuesday night. In the fifth game, the Leopards held a 13-8 lead but could not finish off the Athenas. CMS came back and won with game scores of 15-9, 13-15, 15-10, 8-15 and 15-13. Freshman setter Meredith Zembal covers the hit as freshman middle blocker Stacy Lupu attacks the ball. La Verne is 5-2 in SCIAC and 10-6 overall.
