The University of La Verne employs several different types of employees. The categories listed on the left represent each type.

The University is a non-smoking, controlled substance, alcohol free environment.
The University of La Verne maintains a mandatory defined contribution retirement plan - Internal Revenue Code 403(b). All employees must participate as a condition of employment. Employees are required to make a 5% contribution to the plan. The University of La Verne will make 10% contribution to employees' retirement accounts. With respect to vesting, for employees hired on or after January 1, 2004, University contributions are fully vested upon completion of 3 years of employment. For University of La Verne employees hired prior to January 1, 2004 University contributions are fully vested.
Employees who wish to pre-tax a greater portion of their compensation than permitted under the basic retirement plan may be eligible to enroll at any time in a Supplemental Retirement Plan. There is no University contribution to this plan.

Classified and Administrative/Professional personnel are at-will appointments. Faculty appointments are normally either tenure-track, or non tenure-track with one-year contracts.
Official transcripts must be provided (after hire) for positions that require post secondary education.
