Dr. Kim Martin was completing a Bachelor of Arts in
psychology at Stanford University when she discovered
the discipline of anthropology. It was love at first sight! She went on to complete her M.A. in Biological
Anthropology at University of Hawaii and her Ph.D. in
Cultural Anthropology at University of California,
Riverside.
Dr. Martin teaches a variety of anthropology courses as
well as research methods and senior thesis seminar
classes for Anthropology, Sociology and Behavioral
Science majors. She founded the Anthropology
Program and the Archaeology Lab at ULV, and was the
recipient of the Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching
Award in 1996. She has also served as a multicultural
consultant, delivering workshops for educational,
public sector and professional organizations.
Dr. Martin has contributed to theoretical volumes on
ethnicity and is currently in the initial stages of a
research project that will investigate attitudes about
ethnicity in Western European and American business
professionals.
