Dr Stuart Allen is an assistant professor in the Department of Organizational Leadership, teaching on the Ed.D. program since August 2010. Stuart started his career as an organizational psychologist, and practiced for 10 years in this profession. Stuart has developed organizational leaders from various industries and has consulted to organizations in the education, corporate, healthcare, nonprofit and civil sectors. His consulting experience includes psychological tests, change, organizational development, leadership development, and team development.
Stuart has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology (University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa) and a PhD in Organizational Leadership (Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA). Stuart previously taught in a masters program in New York.
Stuart’s research interests include organizational culture, the inner life of leaders, leadership development theory, and all aspects of self-leadership. Stuart’s expertise lies at the intersection of leadership, psychology, and organizational theory. He has served in various leadership roles including being the director of a nonprofit leadership center. In 2009 Stuart published and edited the CALE Handbook of Leadership.
