Bio:

Prior to coming to the University of La Verne, Amber was a first and second grade teacher at Mountain View Elementary in Claremont. It was there where she discovered a love for teaching reading and involving parents in the process. During her time there she established parent-literacy nights and author teas.

Amber currently teaches in the Graduate Reading Program preparing teachers to become reading specialists in the elementary and secondary school system.

Amber is currently completing her Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in reading at the Claremont Graduate University. Her area of research focuses on parent involvement and the positive influences it has on the reading process in early, elementary-aged children.

Amber enjoys spending her time with friends at the beach and participating in a variety of water sports.
