Getting to La Verne from the Airport
1. Los Angeles Airport
If you are arriving at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), you will need to take a shuttle from the airport to La Verne. The trip will take 1.5 hours - 3 hours.
- Collect your luggage at the baggage claim, then exit the baggage claim area and proceed to the van stop area on the outer curb.
- Look for the orange sign that says "Van Shared Ride"
- You will see a person in a blue jacket with a nametag that says "Super Shuttle Curb Coordinator." This person will arrange a van for you.
- You will pay the shuttle coordinator $50 for the first person and $9 for each additional person. Tell the van driver you are going to La Verne and give him/her the address of the university. The residence hall (call the Oaks) is on the corner of E Street and First Street--2150 First Street; La Verne. At the Oaks you will look for Building B. See the La Verne Map.
It is customary to give a gratuity for services in the U.S. You should have an extra $2-$3 o give that van driver at the end of your trip.

After you arrive: Housing and living arrangements at La Verne
Housing
While the ISAS is not officially a placement office, we will do what we can to help students find comfortable housing. The following are suggestions in your search.
- Residence Halls: The residence halls on campus are available to undergraduate and graduate students. Students should try to apply for space as soon as possible. While there is no deadline for application, the sooner you apply, the better are the possibilities that there will be space. For information about housing on campus La Verne Housing and Residential Life: .http://laverne.edu/students/housing/
- Housing in the area--ISAS List: The ISAS keeps a list of housing possibilities that is updated periodically and has brief notes describing the housing. The list is available in the International Student Services.
- Housing in the area--A Home Stay: An excellent way to begin your stay at La Verne is to live with an American Family. "Home Placement Services" works with the ISAS in helping students find a placement that is comfortable for the student. There is a placement charge for this helpful service and the cost of $625/28 days includes two meals a day.. Questions? Ask at the ISAS or call 619-423-1449.
