Note: if you need wireless access in the Brandt Hall or Stu-Han residence halls, please go to Wireless Internet Access at Brandt Hall and Stu-Han Residence Halls for instructions.
What is the Network Admission Control System?

When your computer connects to the wireless network and you open a web browser, your web browser will be redirected to a login page where you enter your University of La Verne e-mail account username and password. Your computer will then be scanned by our Network Admission Control System to ensure that your computer has a working antivirus program with an up-to-date definition file and up-to-date operating system security patches installed. The Network Admission Control System will help ensure that we comply with the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) federal law and also help protect your computer from other computers infected with malware.

How secure is the new wireless network?

The wireless network connection is not encrypted; the only encryption available is provided by the websites you visit—only websites starting with https:// (notice the letter “s” after http) provide encrypted communications from your computer to the website.

How do I connect to the new wireless network?

The following instructions will guide you through the process of connecting to the University of La Verne new wireless network:

In order to connect to the Internet you must have the following items:

  • A username and password. This is the same username and password used when logging into your University of La Verne e-mail account.

If you have forgotten your password and need it reset, please contact the OIT Help Desk at (909) 593-3511 x4130. If you are a visitor to the University of La Verne, you can request temporary access to the wireless network by contacting the OIT Help Desk.
